Galway team mark National Workplace Wellbeing Day
Staff from our Galway centres have joined more than 100 of their colleagues in promoting National Workplace Wellbeing Day (Friday 12 April).
Aiming to promote better physical activity and nutrition in the workplace, our centres in Hibernian House, Eyre Square, Galway celebrated National Workplace Wellbeing Day with a healthy staff breakfast and a mile-long lunchtime walk.
We’re also enhancing the working environment by training managers across our centres to become mental health first aiders. The two-day course will enable our staff to identify if a team member may be developing a mental health issue or is experiencing a mental health crisis.
Ursula Kenny, Head of HR for Seetec Ireland, said: “The wellbeing of staff is an essential core value to any business operation. We’re proud that our colleagues, throughout Ireland, have thrown their support behind National Workplace Wellbeing Day by participating in a range of activities. We have begun a programme to train our team members, with 23 managers to be mental health first aiders. They will be there to provide initial help and guide a person towards appropriate professional help. Not only does this create a greater understanding of mental health but also promotes an environment of support within the work place. It is Seetec’s vision to have a mental health first aider in each of our centres.”
